Above are some images of the pots that I paint. Each one is designed to show something of the beauty of our world and it's changing seasons. I usually prefer to make tactile things, something to hold and use rather than an image to hang on a wall and these lovely little beechwood pots produced in Wales are such a wonderful 'canvas' to paint on. I have been very inspired by the landscapes of Britain, and it's ancient stone circles, chalk figures , changeable coast line and Celtic heritage. Each pot reflects something of this, the stories, myths, the festivals that mark the year... Now, as I live in France, in self-imposed exile from my Celtic home, I am finding a whole new series of influences, but also a deepening understanding of the ancient roots we share and this too is being added to the melting pot of imagery that I draw upon.
